Indian army officials say at least nine soldiers have been killed and 14 others injured in a roadside bomb attack in Indian Kashmir. They said the bomb exploded as an army convoy passed, hitting the bus in which the soldiers were travelling.
The pro-Pakistan rebel group Hizbul Mujahedin has claimed responsibility for the attack. India and Pakistan both claim the Himalayan region of Kashmir. A peace process has been under way between the two countries since 2004.
